Somerset’s LC Air Show postponed until 2024 due to airport work

Neighboring Pulaski County’s popular Lake Cumberland Air Show will not take place this year, but will return again in 2024, according to a report in the Somerset Commonwealth Journal.

The show brought in more than 8,000 people last year but is being pushed back to September 2024 due to construction at the Lake Cumberland Regional Airport in Somerset.

The Federal Aviation Administration says work on the airport’s tarmac, the location where planes are parked, unloaded or loaded, refueled, boarded, or maintained is taking precedence this year.

The event, a partnership between the Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Authority, the airport and the Somerset-Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, features music, food and air and runway entertainment.
