A Russell Springs man was arrested on a variety of charges following a traffic stop by Kentucky State Police late Sunday afternoon, according to jail records.
Corey Sheppard, age 22, was arrested by Trooper Trevor Sharp on trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, first offense (greater than or equal to two grams of methamphetamine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance first degree, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked operator’s license, failure of non-owner to maintain required insurance first offense, failure to produce an insurance card, failure to wear seat belts, improper display of registration plates, no registration plates, and no registration receipt.
Sheppard was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just after 5 p.m. on Sunday.
