Lady Laker Softball falls at home to Pulaski County

The Russell County Lady Laker Softball team fell at home Thursday evening to the Pulaski County Lady Maroons by a score of 7-2.

The Lady Lakers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, but the Lady Maroons scored 7 unanswered runs before the Lady Lakers scored another in the bottom of the 5th.

Errors doomed the Lady Lakers as they finished with 6 on the night, as the Lady Maroons only finished the game with 4 hits compared to 6 for Russell County.

At the plate, Emma Popplewell finished with a pair of hits and Nevaeh Duncan had an RBI.

Rylen McGowan, Mallie McQueary, and Jaylee Roy each added a hit for the Lady Lakers.

Addison Hart pitched 7 innings for the Lady Lakers, giving up 5 earned runs on 4 hits, striking out 3 and walking 2.

The Lady Laker JV team fell in the second game, with the Lady Maroons picking up a 5-3 win.
