Errors haunt Lady Lakers in season opener

The Lady Laker Softball team went on the road last night for its season opener, falling 17-1 to the Taylor County Lady Cardinals.

It was a rough night for the Lady Lakers in their 2023 opener, as the team finished with 8 errors on the night and only 4 hits.

Nevaeh Duncan, Audrie Roy, Emma Popplewell, and Jadyn Mann each finished with a hit on the night. Duncan scored the team’s lone run.

8th grader Brylie Jo Hardwick got the start for the Lady Lakers, pitching two innings and giving up nine hits with 13 runs scored but only 4 earned.

The Lady Lakers will look to get back on track when they host Southwestern tonight.

That game is scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m.
