21 new COVID cases reported in Russell County this week

The Kentucky Department for Public Health reported 21 new COVID cases in Russell County this week, a slight decrease from last week’s total of 22.

Looking at other counties in the Lake Cumberland District, Pulaski County had the most with 29 cases, Adair County reported 27 cases, Taylor County and Green County each had 15 cases, Wayne County reported 14 cases, Clinton County had 10 cases, Casey County had eight cases, McCreary County had three cases, and Cumberland County reported two cases.

Beginning this week, the Kentucky Department for Public Health COVID-19 data is displayed on interactive dashboards on their website.

The data will be updated each week. The new data appears to focus more on case incidence rates than hospitalization rates around the state or the current positivity rate.

Kentucky’s current incidence rate, per 100,000 population, is 7.99 percent. Statewide, there were 4,736 new cases this week.
