The superintendent of the nearby McCreary County School District was arrested and charged with felony unlawful possession of a weapon on school property after he arrived at central office with a gun Tuesday morning, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
According to reports, John Gunn was arrested after he attempted to enter the McCreary County Board of Education with a handgun just after 6 a.m.
Gunn reportedly submitted a resignation letter to the school board the night before he was arrested.
