The Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers both fell in tournament matchups Thursday night.
The Lakers played at Wayne County in the Monticello Bank Classic, falling to Casey County 67-56.
Owen Loy led the scoring with 17 points, followed by Braydon Cerrato and Trace Stringer with 12 each, Mayes Gosser with 7, Kaden Coffey with 4, and Noah McMillin and Logan Walters with 2 each. Gosser finished with a team-high 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Lady Lakers played host to Spencer County in the Bankers Hardwood Classic, falling 56-24.
Hannah Yates led the Lady Lakers in points and rebounds with 9 each. Maleah Preston added four and Karley Luttrell added 3.
The Lady Lakers will host Casey County in the 3rd place game of the Bankers Hardwood Classic at 3 p.m. today.
The Lakers play Clinton, Tennessee at Wayne County today with tip-off scheduled for 10 a.m.
