William Edward Davis, age 83, of Russell Springs

William Edward Davis, of Russell Springs, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, at his home.  He was 83 years of age.

Born March 31, 1939, in Pulaski County, he was the son of Emery and Nora Gosser Davis.  William worked as a machinist for 28 years at Tecumseh Products in Somerset.  He was a member of Mt. Eden Baptist Church, and he enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.  William will be remembered for making knives and beautiful, handmade gun holsters, as well as being the best knife sharpener in the family.

Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Dixie Riggins Davis, of Russell Springs; a son, Steve Davis, of Russell Springs; five daughters, Donna (and John) Aaron, of Greensburg, Karen (and Terry) Baker, of Somerset, Jennifer Pinner, of Russell Springs, Kimberly (and Joe) Wilson, of Russell Springs, and Rebecca Luttrell, of Russell Springs; ten grandchildren, Rachael (and Rocky) Cremmens, of Somerset, Shelly (and Matt) Dyer, of Somerset, Leslie (and Glenn) Blevins, of Somerset; Krystal Popplewell, of Russell Springs, Michael Popplewell, of Frankfort, Hannah Davis, of Russell Springs, Emily Keith, of Russell Springs, Alexzandra Davis, of Columbia, Isaac (and Taylor) Wilson, of Russell Springs, and Khristen (and Dustin) Morgan, of Waynesburg; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. William also leaves behind a beloved companion, his dog, Patches.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Eades and Peggy Antle.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM CST Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Brother Delvin Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM CST Saturday, and from 8:00 AM Sunday, until time of services at the funeral home.

Pallbearers for William will be Joe Wilson, Isaac Wilson, Michael Popplewell, John Aaron, Matt Dyer, Brent Thomas, and Samuel Thomas.
