Local residents who wish to apply for the federal government’s student loan forgiveness program can now do so through the federal student aid website.
Student loan borrowers are eligible for up to $10,000 of debt relief, and Pell Grant recipients are eligible for up to $20,000 of debt relief. The application is relatively simple, with only basic information about the loan borrower needed.
The application for loan forgiveness will remain open until Dec. 31, 2023.
