Russell County and Allen County-Scottsville went down to the wire last night in a 4th Region Tournament matchup, but it was the Lady Patriots coming out on top in five sets by a score of 3-2.
The Lady Lakers won the first set over the Lady Patriots 25-10, but narrowly lost in back-to-back sets to go down 2-1.
The Lady Lakers came back strong in the fourth set with a narrow 25-23 win.
In the fifth and final set, the Lady Lakers jumped out to an early lead, but ACS came out with a narrow 16-14 victory to advance to the region semifinals.
The Lady Lakers season comes to an end with a final record of 30-8, including a 16th District Championship.
