Emma May Hall, age 78, Formerly of Russell County

Emma May Hall, 78, of Knightstown (Rush County) passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Emma was born February 27, 1944 at home in Jamestown, Kentucky to Wolford and Effie (Morgan) Chapman.

Emma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Center Christian Church and taught Sunday School and served on various committees through the years. She farmed alongside her husband, Bob, on the family farm while working on and off at Mayhill Publications. Emma loved gardening, canning, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Emma is survived by her daughter, Tonya (husband: Barre’) Wainwright of Mays, Indiana; grandchildren, Chloe Bretzlaff of Brownsburg, Indiana and Jack Bretzlaff of Knightstown, Indiana; two sisters, Louise Watts of Knightstown, Indiana and Judy Foley of Nicholasville, Kentucky; four brothers, Arondell (wife: Judy) Chapman and Wallace (wife: Pauline) Chapman both of Greenfield, Indiana, Bobby Chapman of Jamestown, Kentucky and Roger (wife: Patty) Chapman of Russell Springs, Kentucky along with many nieces and nephews.

Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Hall; a sister, Margaret Kendrick and two brothers, Donald Chapman and Larry Chapman.

Friends are welcome to visit the family from 4 – 8 pm, Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Center Christian Church, 9112 North 50 West, Knightstown, Indiana (Rush County).

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, October 7, 2022 at the church with Pastor Darryl Denney and Bill Worrell presiding. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
