Back during the early stages of planning for the Lake Cumberland Regional College and Workforce Center when the Russell County School District was writing the grant for the possibility of a new facility, several local business and industry partners were called upon for their support in making the center a possibility.
Last Friday, local industry partner Terry Stephens of Stephens Pipe and Steel presented the center with a donation of $100,000 as part of his commitment to the Work Ready Skills Initiative grant requirement.
Superintendent Michael Ford, center principal Sarah Roy and board of education vice chair Richard Kazsuk were on hand to accept the donation from Stephens.
