Jamestown woman arrested after stabbing attack

A Jamestown woman was arrested on Saturday morning after she reportedly stabbed another woman, according to Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston.

Polston told WJRS News Brittany Guidry, age 35, is facing a charge of first-degree assault after she reportedly stabbed another woman, identified as LaTonya Bell, four times.

Bell was transported to Russell County Hospital and later sent to University of Kentucky Hospital for further treatment of injuries.

Guidry was arrested by Deputy Corey Meyer with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office. He was assisted on scene by Russell Springs Police Officer Bobby Pritchard, Kentucky State Police, and Russell County EMS.

Guidry was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday morning.

Polston told WJRS News the case remains under investigation and will be presented to a Russell County grand jury.
