Russell Springs Fire Department to collect donations for WHAS Crusade this weekend

The Russell Springs Fire Department will be out this weekend collecting donations for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Fire department members will be set up at the intersection of Highway 80 and 127 this weekend collecting donations.

Last year, the department raised more than $10,000.

Motorists are asked to remain aware that people will be out and exercise caution when traveling through the area.

Fire Chief Bobby Johnson said this drive will hold some significance as its the first one since the passing of former Fire Chief H.M. Bottom, but the department is preparing for the weekend as it’ll be the 52nd year it has been done in Russell Springs.
