RS Fire crews respond to multiple calls at North 127 business

Russell Springs Fire crews responded to multiple calls at a business on North 127 Tuesday.

Fire crews initially were called to a fire at a building across from Apex Auto off North 127 just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

According to Russell Springs Fire Chief Bobby Johnson, firefighters were called out again at 8:15 a.m. and then again at 12:30 p.m. to the building due to ongoing issues.

The building was reportedly used by Cooper to repair vehicles, and the building sustained heavy damage, according to Johnson. Eight automobiles as well as golf carts, ATVs, and other items were also in the building and sustained damage.

In total, Johnson said fire crews were on scene for about eight hours total on Tuesday at the building. Nobody was inside when any of the fires broke out.

Johnson said the cause of the fires remains under investigation.
