CENSUS: Russell Springs, Jamestown gain citizens between 2020-2021

According to recently released U.S. Census data, both Russell Springs and Jamestown saw population increases from July 1, 2020, to July 1, 2021.

The data shows the population of Jamestown grew by 14, from 1,814 to 1,828.

In Russell Springs, the population grew by 41, from 2,701 to 2,742.

The three fastest-growing cities in Kentucky during that time period were Richmond (+918), Bowling Green (+877), and Elizabethtown (+498).

Neighboring Somerset was among the top 10 with an increase of 212.

Neighboring Columbia saw a decrease of one person, while Albany saw a population increase of seven citizens and Burkesville had an increase of two.

In other neighboring cities, Liberty and Monticello each had a decrease of 9 citizens during that time span.
