ACHS awarded funding for new press brake

In neighboring Adair County, the high school and technical school were recently awarded more than $147,000 in Kentucky Statewide Reserve Funds to purchase a new press brake, which will allow welding students in the area to work on a 3,000 ton, state-of-the-art piece of equipment.

The press brake manufacturing equipment, which is used to bend sheet metal, will likely take five months to receive and ready for student use.

The Cumberlands Workforce Development Board, which is a 29 member advisory board that includes representatives from 13 counties and includes the 10 counties of the Lake Cumberland Area Development District and three counties of the Cumberland Valley Area Development District, submitted the application for the grant.
