Russell Springs, Jamestown experience population growths according to 2020 census

Both cities in Russell County experienced population growth from 2010 to 2020, according to census data.

Data from the 2020 census was recently released on cities with less than 5,000 population.

The City of Russell Springs saw a significant jump with a more than 11 percent increase in population.

In 2010, the population of Russell Springs was 2,441. That jumped to 2,715 in 2020, an 11.2 percent increase.

The City of Jamestown saw a population increase as well. Jamestown’s population jumped from 1,794 in 2010 to 1,867 in 2020, a 4.1 percent increase.

Russell County had a population growth of about 2.4 percent from 2010-2020 according to census data.
