A death investigation is underway in neighboring Pulaski County, according to law enforcement.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call Monday night on Poplar Estates Road between Somerset and Science Hill.
Officers discovered that a man, identified as 26-year-old Travis Popplewell of Stanford, was assaulting a woman and a juvenile at the home when he was shot and killed by another juvenile with a handgun in the home.
Popplewell was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office.
