Russell County Primary voting plan released

The voting plan for the May primary in Russell County has been approved by the state board of elections.

There will be three days of early voting in Russell County, which will take place Thursday May 12, Friday May 13, and Saturday May 14.

Polls will be open for early in-person voting on these days at the South Kentucky RECC Community Room off Highway 127 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Any registered voter in Russell County can vote at the SKRECC building, regardless of their precinct or district.

Those who prefer to wait until Election Day, which will be Tuesday May 17, can vote at one of three locations in the county. Those locations include the SKRECC Community Room, the LEVEE Building by Jamestown Christian Church, and Salem Elementary School.

Voting hours on Election Day will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Anyone requesting an absentee ballot can do so beginning April 2 by contacting the County Clerk’s Office at 270-343-2125 or 270-566-0135.

The deadline to register to vote is April 18. Voter registration can be done in the County Clerk’s office or online at elect.ky.gov.

Poll workers are still needed, and anyone interested in serving as a poll worker can contact Janet Antle at the County Clerk’s Office at 270-566-0135.
