Renovations coming to Jamestown Elementary

New floor tiles will be placed along the first floor of Jamestown Elementary after the board approved the request to solicit bids for the project from Superintendent Michael Ford at Monday night’s board of education meeting.

Ford said that maintenance crews at the school have been dealing with the issue of tiles rising and being lodged out of place for a while now and after looking into the issue, Ford said the tiles will need to be replaced.

Ford said the tiles have become an issue of student and teacher safety, and while there’s likely an expensive price tag to replace them (the cost could end up being around $100,000 depending on the bids the district receives), Ford said it needs to happen.

The board agreed, approving the request unanimously.
