Redistricting in county fiscal court races delayed

A bill that would postpone redistricting for county fiscal court races until next year was signed into law by Governor Andy Beshear.

State law mandates fiscal courts to reapportion their districts for the election in the second year following the U.S. Census, but due to delays in the delivery of census results due to COVID-19, House Bill 212 puts that off for a year.

This is a one-time postponement, and since these offices are four-year terms, the new districts will take effect for the 2026 election.
