A new license year begins today, March 1st, and the year runs through the end of February 2023 for state hunting and fishing licenses, according to state wildlife officials.
Licenses and permits can be purchased online at fw.ky.gov and are issued in the form of a printable license image and customers will not receive a paper license or permit in the mail. An authorization number will also be issued for customers without access to a printer and will serve in lieu of a printed license. Any customer using an authorization number must carry a photo ID while performing the act authorized by the license or permit.
For those wishing to purchase a license at a local vendor, they can be purchased at the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Lake Country Outdoors and Lake Cumberland Marina, according to the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife.
