Lady Lakers fall to Adair County in 2A sectional

The Russell County Lady Lakers fell to 5-8 on the season as they dropped a close game to the Adair County Lady Indians Monday night by a score of 58-52.

Both teams started slow offensively, with the game tied at 19 at halftime. The Lady Lakers took the lead in the third quarter until a late Adair County run gave the Lady Indians the edge headed into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Lakers trailed by as many as 11 in the 4th quarter, but cut it to a one-possession game before the Lady Indians were able to put the game away to get their third win on the season.

Turnovers once again were a major problem for the Lady Lakers, as the team turned the ball over 30 times, but out-rebounded the Lady Indians 38-20.
