Jamestown postpones city council appointment until next week

The Jamestown City Council is expected to nominate a new city council member next week.

A nomination was expected to come at Thursday night’s meeting, but council members Barry Coffey and Terry Robertson were not able to attend Thursday’s meeting, although Coffey joined the meeting by phone.

Mayor Regena Hinton said she preferred that each of the council members be able to be at the meeting in-person for the nomination process, so a special-called council meeting was scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday.
