A Kentucky House of Representatives committee has approved a bill that would extend the filing deadline for candidates in the 2022 primary elections to January 25.
The current deadline is Friday, Jan. 7. This also includes local candidates filing for office.
The bill still will need to pass through the House and Senate, and be signed by the Governor, before the deadline is officially pushed back.
This is a one-time extension.
