Jamestown officially has a new mayor, as Regena Hinton was sworn in as the interim mayor during a special-called city council meeting Monday.
Hinton will finish out the remainder of former mayor Nick Shearer’s term.
With Hinton now serving as mayor, there is a vacant seat on the Jamestown City Council.
The nomination of a new city council member is expected to occur at the council’s regular meeting this month, which will take place on Thursday, Jan. 20.
