KY Fish and Wildlife Accepting Christmas Trees for Recycling Program

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife is now accepting natural Christmas trees at more than two dozen drop-off locations across the state for their annual Christmas for the Fishes tree recycling program.

The two locations nearest to Russell County are the KDFWR’s regional office in Somerset at 135 Realty Lane and Crazy Horse Bait and Tackle at 2422 New Columbia Road in Campbellsville.

The program helps create habitat for fish in Kentucky’s waterways. Those who donate are asked to remove any lights, ornaments, tinsel, garland and any other decorations from the trees.

Tree collection will continue between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily through January 15, 2022.
