Voters who wish to change their political party before the May primary elections will have to do so in the next couple weeks.
The deadline to change political parties for the change to be in effect for the primary elections is Dec. 31.
To vote in a partisan primary in Kentucky, voters must be registered as a member of that party by Dec. 31 the prior year.
