Valeria Godby, of Russell Springs, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Russell County Hospital. She was 96 years old.
Born on April 5, 1925, in the Pine Top Community of Russell County, she was a daughter of the late Willard “Perk” and Vida Dause Owens. Valeria was a homemaker and a pastor’s wife for 42 years. She was a member of Good Tidings Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Arlin (and Gay) Godby, of Russell Springs, and Michael (and Sharon) Godby of Russell Springs; a daughter, Ann (and Ronald) Rexroat, of Russell Springs; thirteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Valeria was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hoyt Godby, who passed away May 7, 1994; six brothers; and one sister.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM CST, Friday, November 26, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, with Bro. Joe Sullivan and Bro. Myles Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM CST, Friday, until time of services, at Bernard Funeral Home.
Brian Godby, David Godby, Ronnie Rexroat, Chris Rexroat, Stephen Godby, and Trevor VanMeter will serve as Valeria’s pallbearers.
