Commonwealth’s Attorney Matthew Leveridge of Jamestown has filed to run for 57th Circuit Judge.
Leveridge has long been rumored to be a potential candidate for the judge position, which includes Russell and Wayne counties.
Leveridge is currently serving his second term as Commonwealth’s Attorney in both counties.
As of Tuesday night, Leveridge is the only candidate to have filed for the office.
Current Judge Vernon Miniard, Jr. has indicated he may not seek re-election.
Circuit Judges are elected to eight-year terms.
