Russell Springs tax rates to remain the same, city welcome sign will be reinstalled soon

The Russell Springs City Council voted unanimously to keep the city tax rates the same at last week’s city council meeting.

The tax rate within the city hasn’t changed in nearly two decades.

Mayor Eddie Thomas also gave an update on the Welcome to Russell Springs sign that was removed as there has been development work near the intersection of Highway 127 and 619.

“I wanted to let everyone know about the Welcome to Russell Springs sign,” Thomas said. “They are finishing up on that development over there and as soon as that’s done, we’ll be putting that sign back up. It’ll probably be about 2-3 weeks after they get it ready out there but we’ll be putting that same sign out there but putting a new flag out and a new flag pole. We’ll put the lights out there too.”
