Russell County is still red on the state dashboard for COVID-19 Incidence rate, meaning Russell County Schools will require masks next week.
The incidence rate for Russell County on the state dashboard is 33.5 cases per 100,000 population.
To move out of the red, the incidence rate must be lower than 25.
The school board voted earlier this week that the incidence rate on each Thursday will determine whether masks are required or optional but encouraged for the following week.
