The Russell County Middle School 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Metcalfe County to become conference champions Thursday night.
The 7th grade team won by a score of 38-27. Camdin Cooper led the scoring with 14 points, followed by Addy Abrell with 11.
Abrell was chosen as the 7th grade MVP.
The 8th grade team came up short, as they fell 38-30 against Metcalfe County.
Addy Abrell led the scoring with 13 points as the 8th grade team came away as the tournament runner-up.
