The Russell County Lakers fell to 2-6 on the season with a 48-20 loss against Elizabethtown Friday night.
QB Gavin Gossage completed 9 of 18 passes for 149 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Gossage also added 19 yards rushing and a touchdown on the ground.
Colton Feece led the Lakers with 66 yards rushing and a touchdown. Braxton Walters added 51 yards on the ground.
Gage Hicks caught 5 passes for 80 yards on the night, while Feece recorded one catch for 43 yards and Walters added four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, it was Hicks leading the way with nine tackles, along with an interception and a fumble recovery. Tony Noyola and Larin Coffey added eight and six tackles, respectively. Jack Shearer finished with five tackles on the night.
The Lakers are back in district play this Friday, as they go on the road to play Allen County-Scottsville.
