More details released about recent RCSO arrests

More details have been released about two recent arrests by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said two individuals have been arrested as part of a theft investigation. James Davis and Thomas Blackburn were both arrested as part of the investigation. They were charged with burglary third degree, theft by unlawful taking, and criminal mischief first degree.

Polston said a go-cart, a Honda 4-wheeler, and Husky Generator were reported stolen from a residence in the Eli community on Royce Roy Road.

RCSO deputies discovered an abandoned UHaul Truck in a field off Highway 1611 on Thursday, June 3. RCSO discovered the UHaul Truck, the generator, and a stolen silver dollar.

The generator was identified to be stolen from Royce Roy Road and the Go-Cart and 4-wheeler were taken out of town that night to Campbellsville and then transported out of state.

Three vehicles involved in the thefts were towed out of Eli at the scene, according to Polston.

Polston said more arrests are forthcoming locally and across state lines. Polston and Deputy Nathan Ginn are leading the investigation. They were assisted by Chief Deputy Jerry Melton and other deputies from RCSO. Local deputies are also working with law enforcement in another state.
