Wayne County man facing kidnapping, attempted murder, federal drug charges

A Wayne County man was recently indicted on federal drug trafficking charges in U.S. District Court in London last week.

According to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron, Logan Criswell of Monticello was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in February on Multiple felony charges for kidnapping (with serious physical injury), attempted murder of a police officer, two counts of drug trafficking, and other felony charges.

The case was turned over to the U.S. DEA field office in London. The federal indictment against Criswell is for possessing with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine, a schedule II-controlled substance.

Criswell could face 5-40 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

The DEA, along with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation.

Criswell has been lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center and is expected to be transferred by U.S. Federal Marshalls to a federal holding facility in the coming days.
