Watching for the Next Potential Winter Storm

Good morning and happy Friday everyone. We really dodged a bullet yesterday as Central Kentucky was hit very hard from the ice storm.   Had our temperatures gotten just a few degrees cooler more quickly, it could’ve been our area being hit hard. It is going to be a cold one out there today.  Let’s check the forecast…

We have a chance for some freezing rain and sleet throughout the weekend, but it does not look like anything major at this time.   Make sure you use caution if heading out for the Valentine’s weekend.   Our attention then turns to late Sunday night and into the day on Monday. We are looking at the potential for snow and ice chances. Here’s the latest forecast model…

This run has a wave of mixed precipitation coming through the area late Sunday and early Monday and then a secondary wave later on in the day.   I  want to once again say there is still much uncertainty in this forecast, but we are going to keep a close eye on everything and post updates as necessary.
