Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said multiple citizens have contacted the sheriff’s office regarding a scam in which someone claims that local law enforcement has a warrant for their arrest.
Polston advises people to hang up on these callers and do not send them money, as it likely could not be recovered and it is difficult to prosecute these scammers.
