Laker swimmers sign to swim at college level

Russell County High School Swim Team senior Emma Rae Phillips will be continuing her swimming career at the collegiate level.

Over the weekend, Phillips signed on to swim at Milligan University in Elizabethon, Tennessee.

“I am really excited for the next chapter in my life going to swim for Milligan University, but the Laker swim team will always be my home and will always be close to my heart,” Phillips said.

Phillips is the second RCHS senior swimmer to sign a letter of intent to swim at the collegiate level. Fellow senior Gaby Alvizo signed to swim at Virginia Wesleyan University in December.

Virginia Wesleyan University is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
