The Russell County Lady Lakers scored just four points in the first quarter and shot 6/25 in the first half, but outscored the Metcalfe County Lady Hornets by 20 in the second half to clinch the top seed in the 16th District Tournament.
In the second half, the Lady Lakers shot 12-19 from the floor and 4-8 from three after going 0-12 from three in the first half.
The Lady Lakers were led by senior Star Marcum, who finished with 20 points and 7 rebounds on 9-13 shooting.
Sophie Shearer finished with 9 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Juliah Bault with 7 points, Maleah Preston with 4, Jaterria Coffey with 3, and Hannah Yates with 2.
The Lady Lakers are now 10-9 on the season and 3-0 in district play.
