Jamestown City Officials Could Appoint City Council Member This Week

Jamestown city officials are expected this week to fill a  position on the Jamestown City Council.     Long time city council member Larry Joe Murray died a couple of weeks ago due to complications from COVID-19.    Murray’s term of office ended December 31st,  but he was re-elected to the council in November and was set to begin another term in office on the first of January.    WJRS NEWS has been told that Jamestown Mayor Nick Shearer is expected to make a recommendation to the council during a special called meeting on Tuesday..    WJRS NEWS will keep you updated on this story as it develops.
