Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston is reminding citizens that haven’t already paid their property tax bills to do so as soon as possible.
Polston said that although the courthouse is closed today and tomorrow, the face value of the tax bill will be honored on Monday, Jan. 4.
Starting on Tuesday, Jan. 5, the tax penalty will start.
