Sheriff’s office arrests several in drug roundup

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office launched “Christmas Jeer #2” Friday morning, resulting in the arrest of several individuals on drug charges.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston said the drug roundup began at about 9 a.m. Friday and involved several agencies, including Kentucky State Police, Russell Springs Police, Jamestown Police, and the Columbia Police Department.

Individuals arrested include the following:

Rebecca K. Bennett, 57, of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a prescription controlled substance not in the original container.

Andrew K. Bolin, 33, of Russell Springs, arrested on a warrant from Hardin County.

Amber M. Lawless, 33, of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in a controlled substance third degree, drug unspecified.

Shannon D. Wooten, 46, of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Damion Anderson, 46, of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. WJRS News has also learned that Anderson will also be charged with trafficking within 1,000 feet of a school.

Angela Passmore, 38, of Russell Springs, charged with trafficking in methamphetamine.

Anthony Popplewell, 32, charged with burglary second degree, criminal mischief second degree, criminal trespassing first degree, resisting arrest, menacing, and failure to appear.

The drug trafficking investigation continues and more arrests are expected in the coming days. All cases will be presented to a Russell County grand jury.
