Laker Football Standout Darnell Signs with Lindsey Wilson College

Russell County High School football standout Collin Darnell has announced he will attend Lindsey Wilson College as a member of the Blue Raider football team.

Darnell started for the Laker football team since the last three games of his freshman season and continued to be a starter for the following three years.   During his career at Russell County High School, Darnell rushed for 2,720 yards, scoring over 30 touchdowns on the ground, had 327 Yards Receiving, and recorded 125 tackles defensively.    Collin was the #7 Leading Rusher in Class 4A in 2019 and was voted a Team Captain, and #9 Leading Rusher in 4A in 2020, having played only 7 games. Collin maintains a 3.78 GPA in the classroom as a student athlete.

On December 16th, 2020, Darnell will sign his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career with the 3 Time NAIA Mid-South Conference Championship Blue Raiders, who are also ranked #3 in the 2020 NAIA Preseason Top 30.

Darnell told Laker Country 1049 WJRS Sports that he is blessed and excited to continue his career with the Blue Raiders, and would like to thank the coaches, teammates, fans, and family who have supported him during his career as a member of the Mighty Laker Football Team.
