Columbia man arrested in RC on arson, wanton endangerment charges

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Adair County man on arson and wanton endangerment charges early Thursday morning following a fire that occurred at a residence on Walnut Lane in Jamestown.

Emergency dispatchers received a call just after 11 p.m. about an arson in progress at a trailer located at 100 Walnut Lane in Jamestown. The caller stated that an individual had thrown a molotov cocktail at the residence, setting the residence on fire.

Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston told WJRS News that as fire and law enforcement officials arrived on scene, Deputy Clint Pace of the Russell County Sheriff’s Office performed a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description provided, and arrested 27-year-old Dakota A. Sullivan.

Sullivan faces a first-degree arson charge and three wanton endangerment charges for each individual inside the residence.

Sullivan was lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just before 1 a.m. Thursday.
