Wayne County Approves Sale of Alcohol

Wayne County became the latest county in the Lake Cumberland area to approve the sale of alcohol.   Voters on Tuesday approved the measure on the ballot by just over 900 votes.   Wayne County, much like Russell County and neighboring Pulaski County, relies heavily on tourism around the lake.    Clinton County remains the only county on Lake Cumberland to remain dry and unable to sell alcohol.    It is expected the legal sale of alcohol in Wayne County will be in effect by early spring, in time for the tourist season next year.
