Former Post 15 trooper, Taylor Co. native named KSP Public Affairs Commander

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 10, 2020) ― immediately, Sergeant William ‘Billy’ Gregory has been named the acting commander of the Kentucky State Police Public Affairs Branch and will function as the agency’s primary spokesperson.

Gregory is a 24-year veteran of the agency. His previous assignments include road trooper, detective, public affairs officer at the Columbia Post, Internal Affairs Branch and assistant spokesperson with the KSP Public Affairs Branch in Frankfort.

“Our goal is to clearly communicate the mission and core values of the Kentucky State Police,” says Gregory. “We want to build bridges with the people of the commonwealth, our local communities, the media and all branches of government through cooperation and transparency.”

Gregory says he looks forward to the challenge ahead and renewing relationships with media partners to enhance a timely flow of information. “Clear communication is essential to the public’s trust and faith in our agency to prevent, reduce and deter crime,” adds Gregory.
