Drive-thru Relay for Life event this Friday

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced event organizers to rethink and regroup on hosting traditional events and Relay for Life is no exception.

This year, a drive-thru luminaria will be held in downtown Jamestown. From 5-7 p.m., luminary bags will be placed around Monument Square in Jamestown as a way to honor cancer victims.

Luminary bags can be obtained free of charge, but donations are encouraged. Russell County Relay for Life reminds people “fundraising isn’t all we do, but all we do depends on it.”

Individuals and businesses are asked to decorate bags with the names of cancer victims as a way to honor those individuals.

Bags can be picked up at Jamestown City Hall or at WJRS.
