Sheriff’s Office arrests five in drug search

Five were arrested as part of a search warrant executed by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office Saturday evening at a residence on Jericho Road.

According to Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston, a warrant was executed at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at a residence located at 1771 Jericho Road. Polston said numerous complaints were reported about potential drug activity and a high amount of traffic in the area.

Zachary Meece, 26, of Russell Springs – Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (Drug Unspecified) and Possession of a Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container
Sarah Elizabeth Cox, 40, of Russell Springs – Possession of Methamphetamine and Drug Paraphernalia
Zachary Antle, 25, of Russell Springs – Possession of Marijuana
Rebecca Bennett, 57, of Russell Springs – Possession of Methamphetamine & Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Brandon Estes, 40, of Russell Springs – Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence with No Visible injuries)

“This ongoing battle to stop the sale of illegal drugs continues by the Russell County Sheriff’s Office,” Polston told WJRS News.

The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to a Russell County grand jury, Polston said. Deputy Kenny Perkins is leading the investigation and was assisted on scene by Chief Deputy Jerry Melton, Deputy Clint Pace, Deputy Nathan Ginn, Deputy Ron Golden, K9 Yogi, and Constable Kenny Luttrell.

Polston reminds Russell County residents that anonymous tips about potential drug activity can be called into the Russell County Sheriff’s Office tipline at 270-343-8116.
